How We Help

The 1LT Tom Martin Memorial Foundation is dedicated to preserving the memory of Tom by supporting the people, places, and causes Tom cherished and respected — and by giving back to those groups and organizations who helped shape Tom into the leader he was.

Scholarships for Young Leaders

The Foundation began as a scholarship program at Tom’s high school in Cabot, Arkansas and has since expanded to offer an annual scholarship to a deserving graduate from any high school in the United States. Scholarship recipients display qualities of community involvement and leadership. For more details regarding the application process, CLICK HERE.

Scouting

In partnership with the Quapaw Area Council (Arkansas) the Foundation established The 1LT Tom Martin Memorial High Adventure Scholarship to help scouts with a financial need participate in programs across America. For details and application, CLICK HERE. The Foundation also provides annual support to Troop 201, Tom’s troop in Cabot, Arkansas.

Ozark Mission Project

Tom spent his high school summers at OMP through the Cabot United Methodist Church, and the Martins have been thrilled to volunteer the last two summers — preparing meals and leading construction teams. In the Summer of 2015, the Foundation became a sponsor of the program.

Race Day Volunteering

In an effort to pump some of Tom’s NEVER QUIT spirit back into the world, the Foundation can be found in the final miles of races like the Hogeye Marathon and the Hero Half Marathon in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We cheer our hearts out, distribute water, and get runners to that finish line!
