Foundation President: Ed Martin, Tom’s father, is retired and lives in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Kremmling, Colorado and raised in Huron, South Dakota. Ed spent 29 years in the US Army before retiring in 1995. He spends a lot of time volunteering with various Veteran and service related agencies . “I hope to use the foundation to do good in ways that Tom would have wanted. To truly help people.”
Foundation Vice President: Candy Martin, Tom’s mother, is a retired Army Warrant Officer. Born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Candy enjoys her adopted home in San Antonio, Texas, where she spends the majority of her time volunteering in the community. “My dream is for this memorial foundation to make a difference in the life of a young man or young lady, who lives life to the fullest and wants to make a difference in our world – just as Tom did.”
Foundation Secretary: Sarah Martin Hood, Tom’s sister, currently lives with her husband Jeff and their son Colt in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she works in shopper marketing and communications. “I hope this foundation lives up to his memory, and that we’re able to honor Tom’s fun and dedicated spirit in a way that brings our family together.”
Foundation Treasurer: Erika (Noyes) Holownia, Tom’s fiancée, is an active duty Army Lieutenant Colonel. She, her husband Greg, and their son live in Alexandria, Virginia. “Tom’s greatest goal was to just do GOOD – within his family, personal life, the Army, and his Soldiers. The foundation provides an opportunity to continue his efforts.”
Laura Martin Rangira, Tom’s sister, lives abroad with her husband Leo and their children Nelson, Ivy, and Wesley. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and works as a Nurse Practitioner with the Department of State. “My goal for the foundation is to keep Tom’s generous and amazing spirit alive. He lived a life of service and to carry that on in his honor is extremely important.”
Becky Martin, Tom’s youngest sister, is currently based in Rogers, Arkansas. She works in marketing and volunteers with Mo-Kan Border Collie Rescue out of Kansas City. “The pillar of this foundation, for me, is helping others while keeping Tom’s memory and spirit alive. I am honored to be part of such an endeavor.”
